Everybody knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but not everyone knows where to hit up the tastiest spot to kick start your day in Jackson Hole. Put down that muffin from your hotel lobby and head straight to one of these fine establishments ASAP. Go ahead, lunch and dinner will wait its turn. Right now it’s all about breakfast.
10) The Bird
Ok, listen up The Bird only offers up the breakfast goods once a week, so you’ve been warned not to miss it. If they offered it a few more times they would be way further down this list, but hey just be thankful that they serve it at all. They don’t even call it breakfast, they had to think of something even better to describe the awesomeness that comes but once a week. It’s dubbed “Sunday Funday” and it includes bottomless mimosas and bloodies for $15, along with all the egg-centric heavy hitters you’re craving. Is it Sunday yet?
9) Pearl Street Bagels
Better than most and too good to toast, one of the best bagels for sure around these parts. Go get your schmear on in any number of delectable varieties. Pretty much the perfect boiled and baked bagel; with a dozen flavors to choose from. Great coffee and bagels, what else do you need to start your morning?
8) The Granary
Yeah the views of the valley are pretty epic when seated at The Granary at Spring Creek Ranch. The only thing that probably rivals it is the stunning view you get of the salmon and egg scramble on your plate, or anything else you pick from the menu for that matter. Let’s face it you are definitely not starting your day off at some roadside greasy spoon when you dine at the Granary. The only bad thing is the rest of your day could all be downhill from here. Oh well, afternoon and night are overrated anyway.
7) Café Boheme
Fancy some French cuisine for breakfast, then grab a table at Café Boheme. The croissants are a stellar and solid choice, but crepes are the call at this spot. Either sweet or savory they do not disappoint, from fresh fruit, to the addictive Nutella, to even ice cream if you are feeling particularly sweet. Or keep it classic and savory with eggs, ham, and cheese. Omeletts, pancakes, and of course French Toast round out the breakfast menu.
6) The Virginian
You’re on the road and by now you might be craving some breakfast comfort food. Well look no further because The Virginian is the place to go for a down home-style breakfast in Jackson Hole. This family owned restaurant has a menu that reads like a breakfast list of greatest hits. Eggs, corned beef hash, chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy. If you leave this authentic cowboy joint hungry it’ll be your own fault.
5) E. Leaven
Jackson used to be a one-bagel town until E. Leaven opened up shop and started providing some worthy and delicious competition. The bagel sandwich is a no brainer at this place or step it up with the nova lox platter with a bagel of course. Omeletts are big and hearty and rep the Southwest, the Mediterranean, and Chicago for bold flavors. Or get creative and build your own.
4) Café Genevive
Technically they call it brunch, but at Cafe Genevieve, all you need to know is that it’s delicious and it’s served until 3pm. Feel free to sleep in, because you can still score such mouth watering items as fried chicken and waffles, Spanish Frittatas, or eggs benedict. Get that down home flavor way out west, as they’ve been “bringing the south to your mouth since 2010.”
3) The Bunnery
An institution as this point, The Bunnery is a bakery and restaurant on the square since 1975. I know it’s breakfast but please, please don’t forget about their amazing desserts. Yep, it’s a bakery and you better be taking home some sweet treats if you didn’t leave any room after all those eggs and hash browns. They had us at eggs all day. Breakfast for the win at the Bunnery.
2) Bubba’s Bar-B-Que
Bubba’s is more than an amazing lunch and dinner spot for barbecue. Locals have long known that their breakfast is only a close second to fresh powder for the best reason to get out of bed in the morning. You can’t go wrong with their big biscuits, omeletts, or something tasty found under their premier breakfast section of the menu. It’s premier for a reason people.
1) Nora’s Fish Creek Inn
Without a doubt worth the 7-mile drive out of town, we’d even walk to get to Nora’s Fish Creek Inn in Wilson. You just might find yourself sitting at a table next to a former President, VP, or even Han Solo. There aren’t many places in town that can boast about having a James Beard Award, but Nora would rather gush about her world famous huevos rancheros and her western classic trout and eggs. Number one for a reason. Go.
